Agro-Processing (Level 2)
The course provides trainees with the knowledge and technical skills essential for the processing of local fruits and vegetables using pickling, curing, candying, and drying methods. It covers modules such as: inspecting, cleaning, sorting, and grading of fruits and vegetables; processing dried products; preparing and processing pickled and salted products; preparing products for canning/bottling; and managing, operating, adjusting and shutting down the machines involved in can seaming and bottle closures. Trainees will also be given the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills required to operate a computer – to enter, manipulate and retrieve data and access information via the Internet. The skill could position the graduate to enter into a lucrative small business.Certification
